Mobility Pit Box makes its debut at Daytona

August 22, 2023 – Toyota Racing is set to debut the ‘Mobility Pit Box’ at the upcoming race at Daytona International Speedway. The Mobility Pit Box is an idea that came to life by our own here at Toyota. With Toyota’s goal of ‘Mobility for All’, the Toyota Racing team created a way to provide an accessible mobility option at select NASCAR race tracks. Toyota envisioned the idea of the Mobility Pit Box and led the concept from design to reality.

Mobility Pit Box makes its debut at Daytona

We are very excited to debut the Mobility Pit Box at Daytona International Speedway,” said Paul Doleshal, Group Manager, motorsports, TMNA. “This idea was formulated after a real-life situation when we realized our guests needed more accessibility at the trace track. The Mobility Pit Box creates a way to provide inclusive and accessible mobility options to enhance the guest experience at NASCAR race tracks.

-PAUL DOLESHAL

The Mobility Pit Box is set to be deployed on pit road and was designed to fit within the NASCAR-regulated pit box dimensions. The pit box can hold a maximum of three wheelchairs along with three additional guests and two staff members. The pit box is self-contained, has a climate assist for the front wall guest and will have the race broadcast feed playing on TV monitors for guests to follow along. Guests can also enjoy a small selection of food and drinks during their visit.

In the spirit of Mobility for all, Toyota will open this experience to all NASCAR Industry partners and sponsors who sign up to utilize this unique addition for their guests during race weekends.
